THE CONCEPT
Our goal as the editors was to create a keepsake that encapsulated The Cooper Union’s three schools—Art, Architecture, and Engineering. We chose the theme "Our Bubble," a reference to the experimental sanctuary of our community within the chaos of Manhattan. Rather than organizing students by major, we grouped them by their favorite local corners ("FIND ME AT:"), shifting the focus from academic silos to how our diverse experiences were naturally intertwined through shared physical and social spaces.
To translate the "Bubble" into a tactile experience, I co-developed a visual system using soft, gutter-bleeding gradients and curved serif typography set in a serif type with round, bouncy strokes. I also worked with our photo editor to shoot our portraits with a “refractive” yet ambient lighting set-up.
THE PRODUCT
A 250+ page vibrant softcover volume with a soft touch, spot UV coating that serves as both a directory of the Cooper neighborhood and a permanent record of the Class of 2025’s collective memory.
