THE BOOK

These artist books unfold from either direction into a 5-foot circle, opening up reading as a collective and non-linear experience and encouraging participants to slow down. I used poetry to embody and entangle legends and myths from Hangzhou and the Bay Area, interspersed in photographs that demonstrate the fragmentation of memories as they are passed down and re-experienced by new generations.

THE BRAND

In my promotional graphics, signage, and ephemera, I used a modified version of Pend Oreille, inspired by the loose flow of fishing nets and Chinese seal script. I incorporated blind-embossed letterpress and “floating” support type to create an identity that captures the ephemerality of the exhibition.
